With a view to facilitate the rural unemployed youth to be equipped with training appropriate for their employment/self-employment in the emerging industrial scenario of the State and outside the State as also for substantial growth of Vocational Training facility in the State, Odisha Government have been pleased to establish a new I.T.I. at Sonepur in the district of Subarnapur in western Odisha under Craftsman Training Scheme(CTS)pattern on 19th February 2009 vide Industries Department Reference no 2506—II-TTI-05/2009-I published in Orissa Gazette no 365 dated 13t March 2009/Falguna, 22, 1930.Accordingly, The Institute was inaugurated on 18.12.2011 and started w.e.f Aug.2012 Session with introduction of 6 month duration course of Data Entry Operator trade(intake of 42 trainees ). Currently this Institution is imparting CTS training in Electrician, Fitter, R&AC, MMV, Welder and COPA with total intake of 424 trainees.
